When my oldest son was 5, he was flying so fast on his bike with training wheels that I swear I saw smoke! When I told him I was taking the training wheels off because it was time, he freaked out, begging me not to because he would fall. I calmly replied, “Then just get up and try again.”
I took the training wheels off anyway. He never fell, and he never looked back.
I felt like him today when my hand therapist cut my cast thingy off because it was time to start strengthening my wrist. She said, “You’re moving into week 6! It’s freedom for you! What you see as protection will actually hold you back. It’s time.”
What God is teaching me….
- The process of healing is continual. What you needed even just last week can today be inhibiting to your future growth.
- Scar tissue must be worked through for healing, and that means moving out of your comfort zone to strengthen what has become weak from the same scar tissue that was once beneficial.
Y’all, we are ever evolving. Re-evaluate your needs for growth. Who you once were yesterday may not be who you need to be tomorrow to become who God created you to be.
God wants you to soar…if you allow him to remove the training wheels and move you through the scar tissue. ❤️
